The Coming Season

It’s always with a little trepidation that we begin the CSA season. Of course we look forward to the joy of working outdoors, of stretching our legs (and our backs), to the freshness of the morning and the warmth of the sun… But it’s also such a tremendous responsibility, and one that we certainly don’t take lightly…

To me, the CSA project goes way beyond the production of vegetables for city folks who want food grown without chemicals — it’s about commitment. Our members make a commitment by investing in a share, but they are also committed to receiving (and we certainly hope eating), the produce that we deliver. That’s no small thing in a world of grocery store aisles lined with thousands upon thousands of choices.

So it is both humbling and amazing to us that our members are willing to support us, not only with their hard-earned cash but also through their interest in the farm and in what we do.

We also make a huge commitment. Our part of the deal is to produce the very best vegetables that we can, and so, from February to November, from indoor seeding to fall clean-up, the garden is what we do.

Here’s to the best season yet!
