Summer 2007

Is anyone else daydreaming about veggies?

Catherine and I were just out walking in what feels like a winter wasteland. There really is quite the contrast between the lush, bountiful summer, and the bitter, barren winter. We were imagining the huge expansions to the current garden plots. We’ll be growing (pun intended) from about 1/3 acre to a full 2 acres… basically from a big suburban back yard to a small field.

So what’s up for 2007? With your enthusiastic and generous support, we’re moving from 12 shares of our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) gardens to a full 30, and a little extra for a farmer’s market. I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m really excited about growing all that food… just imagine all those bellies, filled with beautiful, wholesome veggies! The mind reels with visions of greens and roots and berries. A beautiful mesclun, baby spinach and mache salad with a fresh herb vinaigrette, perhaps?

Anyway, I hope you’re all as excited as we are about this coming season. It would be our greatest pleasure to build a relationship between you and our family farm.

Cheers!

Your personal farmer,

Joël
