Everything was ready to go by noon, which was considerably less stressful than last Sunday, where we barely finished washing by 4 pm.
So, overall, we were off to a good start. Our good friend Rob then made an excellent liner (out of reflective bubble insulation) for the trunk of the car. Jean-Pierre set up a structure for the pole beans (we’re late, I know). Stephanie weeded a million row-feet of… well, everything. Somebody’s enjoying the new Lee Valley gizmo (aka Half Moon Hoe). Catherine baked a bodacious pumpkin cheesecake for the dessert share. I did stuff too, really, but it pales in comparison.
But the most encouraging bit of all was the end of the day. Catherine and I seeded and transplanted into the last wisp of dusk, filling up just about all available space with leafy vegetable goodness (biodynamically speaking, it was mostly a leaf day). Looking over the garden just then was sheer bliss.
Have a lovely week,
Joel
