So, here is our rule of thumb:
Anything leafy, liable to wilt, shoud be wrapped in a damp cloth or paper towel, inside a plastic bag. If you have them, those plastic bags with holes in them are a good idea. Basically, keep them damp and cool.
I took a long time to mull over a long list of best practices, but I think that the above says it all. Damp and cool. Your mileage may vary, but we can easily keep a head of lettuce for 4-5 days that way. Of course, it’s best eaten fresh…
Oh, and don’t forget – tomatoes don’t go in the fridge. We’re a few weeks off from the first harvest, but do keep that in mind.
