This weekend we met a young couple from Montreal, Alessia and Bruno, who want to be our farm interns this summer. Ali is a graduate in Communications and Bruno is wrapping up his studies in Business Administration. But now they want to become farmers! Zero experience, but oodles of enthusiasm, as you can see from Ali’s video clip. So much enthusiasm, in fact, that we thought we would throw our most-horrible horror stories at them: short tempers when the basket deadline or departure for market looms; watering seedlings in clouds of mosquitos at sundown; harvesting beans for hours, ankle deep in mud… Ali and Bruno were unfazed. Okaaay then kids, welcome to our world! We’ll see if we can turn these city babes into sweaty, mud coated, dirty-fingernailed FARMERS!
