The community garden is simply a space that we have made available to families from Ottawa who want to grow some of their own food and get some fresh air. It’s taken shape quickly over the last couple of months, and after a big push this week to plough and till the area, there was some serious transplanting happening today. The project was initiated by our friend Normand Pellerin, and some gorgeous veggie seedlings were donated by Les Serres Quenneville in Alfred (with a few more modest ones contributed by us). The farm is bubbling with activity these days! In the above photo, Araoye Latif Karimou, Normand Pellerin and Philippe Sangi Ndombasi are hard at work.
